Today, the official opening ceremony of the 35th Winter Athletics Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place at the Qazaqstan Athletics Sports Complex in Astana.

The Championship is being held from January 9 to 11, 2026, in accordance with the current rules of the International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics), with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Astana.

As part of the competition program, athletes from all regions of the country compete in track events, jumps, throws, combined events, and relays among men and women. The Championship program includes a total of 26 individual events and 5 relay events.

The 35th Winter Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a key stage of the 2026 winter season. Based on the results of the competition, the national team roster will be formed for participation in international events, including the Asian Championships and qualification stages for the World Indoor Championships.
