On 18 October, the Republic Cycling Track “Saryarka” hosted a master class for orphans of Akmola Region, during the Day of Open Doors. It involved three orphanages: Orphanage No 1 of Akkol, Orphanage “Svetoch” and Orphanage KRU “Astana”.

The task of the master class was to engage orphans into regular physical education and sport, to form a healthy lifestyle by means of active and sports games; to teach discipline and teamwork.

The event was started with a performance of the club “Mustafa-Astana”, taekwondo section. Children were taught a couple of tricks on the protection against opponents. Then there were matches of mini-football, where the orphanage “Svetoch” took third place, second place was taken by the Orphanage No 1 of Akkol and first place was taken by orphanage KRU “Astana”.

The children received a wonderful experience from the USSR swimming sports masterm, L. Yu. Hamzina. She talked about the secrets of swimming and correct breathing in water. Such activities help children to discover a desire to be engaged in sports, which is our main goal.
