On May 9, the 44th criterium race took place in Talgar, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It was attended by cyclists from many regions of Kazakhstan, as well as guests from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. This regional center of the Almaty region is famous for the exploits of front-line soldiers. In the terrible year of 1941, a regiment was formed in Talgar, which became part of the 316th Rifle Division, later renamed the 8th Guards Panfilov Division. Every year on Victory Day in the homeland of heroes, cyclists pay tribute to their military achievements by competing in speed on the streets. And it must be said that cycling is not a random choice of the organizers of memorable competitions. For a long time, excellent racers who were part of the national teams of the Soviet Union and Kazakhstan were brought up in Talgar. These are Vladimir Zharkov and Anatoly Zametelsky, Vladislav Kukharsky, Nikolay Bondarenko, Sergey Tretyakov... And during the previously held May criteria, such famous cyclists as Olympic champion Alexander Vinokurov, world champions Sergey Navolokin, Marat Satybaldiev, Igor Potenko became participants and winners. and many others. By the way, Sergey Navolokin and Marat Satybaldiev were honorary guests of the 2015 criterion, awarding the winners and runners-up with diplomas and medals. And also bikers from Almaty with the flags of Kazakhstan came to visit the Talgar residents on powerful motorcycles, who initially led the cycling race itself and set a high pace for it. The competition was opened by the smallest cyclists of Talgar, who covered a distance of 100 m. Literally everyone received gifts. By the way, among the young team there were both five-year-old and seven-year-old winners... Olzhas Baembaev won the 21 km criterium race among boys. Adults and youth covered a distance of 46 km. Here the top three winners included Artem Zakharov (1st place, Petropavlovsk), Nikita Panasenko (2nd place, Talgar) and Vitaly Zverev (3rd place, Pavlodar). The organizers also awarded the best cyclists of the traditional republican multi-day race in memory of international master of sports Nikolai Bondarenko, which ended the day before. Nikita Panasenko won the general classification, followed by Baglan Zhanburshy (SKO) and Nikita Stalnov (SKO). The fourth time after six stages was shown by the guest from Uzbekistan Akrom Sunnatov. The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes from the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation.
