Training has begun for the new youth track sprint team
On February 20 of this year, the first training session of the new youth track sprint team took place at the Olympic Training Center for Cycling. The athletes' coach is Valentin Sergeevich Savitsky, a master of sports of Russia and international class.
Sprint is one of the disciplines in track cycling. It is a race on a cycling track for two or three laps, in which from two to four athletes selected in qualifying races take part. The winner in each specific race is the racer who crosses the finish line first. In the sprint, the best position at the start is considered to be the one when the athlete takes a place behind the opponent’s back - it is difficult for the first to see, and therefore, to calculate the maneuvers. At the same time, you must not let the enemy go too far ahead.
