On August 20, 2017, the Republican mini-football tournament among journalists, media workers (mass media), dedicated to the memory of the celebrated publicist, public figure and sports journalist Seydakhmet Berdikulov took place at the Center for Olympic Training in Bicycle Sports.

This tournament is held regularly since 1995 and from year to year has gained immense popularity among the employee of Internet portals, newspapers, magazines, radio and television. S. Berdikulov's memorial was originally organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. But since 2008, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan has taken this competition under its wing. The authorized body in the field of physical culture and sports has also been holding the Republican contest for the Seydakhmet Berdikulov prize among Kazakhstan journalists specializing in covering the topic of sports in their media since 1995.
