The 45th international multi-day bicycle race Schoolboy Kazakhstan 2014 started in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

The nine-day cycling race, information support to which was provided by the republican newspaper Kazakhstan Today, is a double anniversary: this year marks the centenary of domestic cycling. By the way, the competition for young riders for 15 years in a row is not accidentally conducted in the east of the country.

"East Kazakhstan tracks are presented with a variety of profiles, so they are ideal for bicycle races," - said Alexander Antyshev, permanent director of cycling race Kazakhstan Schoolboy.

Like last year, the international status of the current competition is obtained due to participation of school teams from Russia and Uzbekistan.

First Deputy Akim of East Kazakhstan region Ermek Kosherbayev, while welcoming the participants, emphasized that no wonder it is called the small bike Academy. At various times, Olympic champion Alexander Vinokourov and such famous masters cycled the distance as Andrei Kivilev, Andrey Kashechkin, Marat Satybaldiyev, Sergei Navolokin, Nikolay Markov, Igor Potenko and other athletes.

120 young cyclists participated in the first group race for 80 km. Yuri Shcherbinin tried on the first leader’s shirt at the end of the stage from the team Astana-1.

Yesterday a hundred-kilometer race was conducted, which ended in the first kilometer of the village Bobrovka in Glubokovsky area road. Vadim Pronskiy from the team Astana-2 which beated Astana-1 by 6 seconds, won the second stage and became a winner based on two stages.

In total, the young cyclist will have overcome 7 stages and make their way to 555 km, including the difficult mountain routes.

The competition ends on August 10 in Ust-Kamenogorsk with criterium race for 50 km. According to the results of the cycling race Schoolboy Kazakhstan-2014 the team of juniors will be determined, which will go to the World Cup in Spain.
