The Republican mini-football tournament among the media in memory of Seidakhmet Berdikulov will take place on July 2, 2016 on the mini-football fields of the Olympic Training Center for Cycling.

This tournament has been regularly held since 1995 and, year after year, has gained enormous popularity among employees of Internet portals, newspapers, magazines, radio and television. The S. Berdikulov Memorial was initially organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. But starting in 2008, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan took these competitions under its “wing”. The authorized body in the field of physical culture and sports has also, since 1995, held a Republican competition for the Seidakhmet Berdikulov Prize among Kazakhstani journalists specializing in covering the topic of sports in their media.

As part of this tournament, on July 2, it is planned to present awards named after S. Berdikulov to laureate journalists for the results of the competition for 2015!

Traditionally, this tournament was held in Almaty on S. Berdikulov’s birthday - May 8-9. Since 2014, it was decided to hold the memorial in Astana, since almost all central media are based and work in the capital. At the same time, representatives of regional publications are again planned to participate in these starts. The geography of participants is increasing from year to year.

In 2011, in Shymkent (SKO), the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Sports and Physical Culture held the First Spartakiad among the media of Kazakhstan in memory of S. Berdikulov in 5 sports. Last year, the II Spartakiad was held in Uralsk (WKO) and included 9 sports. These complex competitions among journalists will be held once every four years and the number of sports in the Spartakiad program will increase.

In addition to the main winners, the organizers of the mini-football tournament also reward the best players in 5 categories. The best judges of the tournament and those who made a significant contribution to the organization of this mass sports event do not go without awards.

This tournament will be supported by: the Sports Press Association of Kazakhstan, the administration of the Republican State Enterprise Center for Cycling, and the sponsors of the tournament.
