On August 12, 2019, the Anti-Corruption Agency held a meeting with the staff from the Committee on Sports and Physical Culture and its subordinate organizations.

There were discussed outcomes of work to identify corruption offenses in the field of sports and physical education for 2018-2019.

The speaker were the Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Sports and Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Sapiyev, Chief Expert from the Legal Department, Dinara Abenova, Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Department Bauyrzhan Balgabekov, and Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency Nurlan Shabdar.

The Deputy Head of the First Department of the Agency Bauyrzhan Balgabekov in his speech reported that according to statistics for 2018-2019, 36 pre-trial investigations of corruption acts in this area were carried out by the law enforcement body.

The speaker emphasized that they were mainly associated with theft, abuse of power and bribery.
